The Spawn of MMOG's

What do you do when an MMOG isn't massive sufficient? Make a podcast community, of course.

Even in a virtual humans full of millions of subscribers, you derriere feel utterly alone. To fight this tone of detachment, some have flocked to podcasts, creating sites so much as VirginWorlds and World of Warcast to get hold of out to their confrere gamers. In Massive in the Morning, Michael Zenke dives into the macrocosm of podcasting for gamers, about gamers.

"When "Starman" started World of Warcast, he had a very specific model to soma on: "I wanted to do a [The] Screen Savers for [World of Warcraft]. That was essentially it. I yearned-for it to be play, I wanted it to follow didactic, I wanted to bring a crew of things to the table. I basically wanted it to be the place people would go to, to learn about the game, just look-alike I would watch The Screen Savers every day at 7:00 to learn about technology. … I opine, over the last 2 years, it's really become exactly what I wanted it to be."

I find IT interesting how communities spawn other communities; worlds within worlds. Here's a massive game created to wreak people in collaboration in a single virtual ma; to play, grind, and raid with each other. You'd think that would create enough of a residential district. However, in nigh cases it's either not enough or too practically. Information technology gets broken down into smaller and smaller communities; guilds, podcasters, bloggers. What do you think? Read Massive in the Morning from Issue 103 and portion your comments.
